Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE:
I. In one God, the Father, who has no beginning or end, is a literal being, the creator of all, omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent (Deut. 6:4;1 Tim 2:5; John 17:3; Eph. 4:6; 1Cor 8:6).
II. In one Christ, the man Jesus, who was born of a virgin via miraculous conception through the power of the spirit of God. He is the only begotten son of God, and is our savior and coming King. We believe in his physical, literal return to earth to rule as King over all the earth in the age to come. He now resides in Heaven at the right hand of God (Luke 1:26-35; John 3:16; Acts 1:11).
III. In the Holy Spirit as the active force of God (Gen 6:17; Ps 51:11; John 3:34; Luke 1:15&35; Isa 11:2).
IV. In the Bible (Old and New Testament), as the inspired word of God. It is the standard by which all truth should be measured (2 Tim 3:16;Acts 17:11).
V. In the mortality of man. We believe God created man without sin, but with the capacity to choose. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden death was introduced into man's experience. Death is the cessation of life. Man needs salvation from death in order to live again (Gen 3;Heb 9:27; John 3:16
VI. In salvation of all people who acknowledge God's sovereignty, repent from their sins, and ultimately accept Jesus Christ as their savior and King. God made salvation possible through the gift of His son who freely offered his life of perfect obedience to God, his body and blood unto death on the cross, and his death-conquering resurrection (Matt 24:13; John 3:16).
VII. In Baptism by immersion for all who can reasonably, physically comply. We believe baptism is an outward confession of an inward conversion and as such should be entered into at an age old enough to understand its significance. We are baptized as an act of obedience to the words of Scripture (Mark 16:16; John 3:5; Acts 2:38, 8:38).
VIII. In the physical, literal resurrection of everyone who has died. The righteous first at Christ's second coming, and the remainder at the end of his thousand year reign. The righteous will be resurrected to everlasting life on earth with Jesus and the saints, and the unrighteous to judgment and everlasting death (1 Cor 15:51-54; Rev 20-22).
